idcd is built on a modern technology stack designed for high performance, availability, and great UX:

  • Frontend — Next.js (App Router) + TypeScript + shadcn/ui for a polished UI.
  • Database — PostgreSQL 16 with multi-schema data isolation.

  • Security — KMS signing, TLS 1.3 in transit, and defense in depth.

Data attribution

idcd's geo dictionary — country codes, ISO 3166-2 subdivisions, and city records — is derived from the countries-states-cities-database, licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL) v1.0.
