Hash Generator
Generate MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256 and SHA-512 text hashes locally in your browser.
Input

HMAC
Usage
• Supports MD5 / SHA-1 / SHA-256 / SHA-512 / CRC32; text computes all digests at once
• File: drag or select a file to hash its raw bytes (handy for verifying download integrity)
• HMAC: pick an algorithm and enter a key to compute a keyed message authentication code over the text
• All computation runs locally in your browser; neither text nor files are uploaded
What does Hash Generator do?
Generate MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256 and SHA-512 text hashes locally in your browser. Compare digests for debugging or data checks; hashing does not provide reversible encryption.
Interpreting results and common questions
Can a hash be decrypted or store passwords directly?
A hash is a digest, not reversible encryption. MD5 and SHA-1 are unsuitable for collision-resistant uses. A fast general-purpose hash is not a password-hashing scheme.
References and result limitations
Local results depend on the input and selected options. Retain the input example, format and processing rules when citing a result, and verify the output. Keep keys and other sensitive material out of public examples.
These references explain protocol or format rules; they do not endorse results produced by this site.
