Compare two texts in side-by-side, inline or character-level views.

Original

Modified

How to use

• Paste original text on the left and modified text on the right, then click Compare

• Three views: Side by Side (aligned, highlighted rows), Inline (unified +/- prefixes with line numbers), Character (word/char-level highlights)

• Ignore whitespace: treat consecutive spaces as equivalent; Ignore case: compare letters case-insensitively

• Badges at the top show added, removed, and unchanged line counts

• Side-by-side view synchronises scrolling on both panels for easy long-text comparison

What does Text Diff do?

Compare two texts in side-by-side, inline or character-level views. Highlight additions and removals, with options to ignore whitespace or case when reviewing changes.

Interpreting results and common questions

Does an empty diff prove equivalent behavior?

A diff compares input under the selected rules. Ignoring whitespace or case can hide meaningful changes. Code, configuration and structured data still need semantic validation.

References and result limitations

Local results depend on the input and selected options. Retain the input example, format and processing rules when citing a result, and verify the output. Keep keys and other sensitive material out of public examples.
